Above the romantic Tauber Valley, not very far from Rothenburg ob der Tauber, lies Reichelshofen and the brewery guesthouse Landwehr-Bräu (Territorial Army Brewery). Reichelshofen, located on the former postal road from Würzburg to Rothenburg, was a post house, horse shelter, and inn for a long time. There is evidence that beer started being served here as early as 1755. Today the guesthouse is known for its unique traditional atmosphere, hospitality, and award-winning cuisine. These things all come together to ensure you the best experience possible. The passion of our entire team is tangible as they strive to provide perfect service to our guests.

Our Beer Specialties
Our modern brewery makes ten different beers. The most popular one was named after the Rothenburg mayor Heinrich Toppler. Around the year 1400 he led the free imperial city to what was probably its biggest heyday. His namesake, the Toppler-Pils, is a true work of brewing art.
